Employee spotlight Q&A: Josh Luhring

Here at Lano, we think we have the best employees on our team in the industry — but in addition to their day jobs, our employees have a wide array of hobbies, talents, and interests that make them truly unique. This Q&A aims to introduce you to other employees you may not know, who may work at another store, or in a different department. With that said, welcome to the first of our Employee Spotlight series. Our first interview is with Josh Luhring, a Parts Specialist at our Anoka store.

1. What is your position with the company? “Parts department.”

2. How long have you worked for Lano Equipment? “It will be 5 years in June.”

3. Where did you grow up? “I grew up in Richfield Minnesota.”

4. What is the first car that you purchased on your own? “It was a gem. 1994 Mercury Tracer. White paint with red interior.”

5. What did you do before you worked here? “I worked at Napa auto parts in Burnsville for 6 years. Then went to a JCB dealer for 2 years, then came to Lano.”

6. What would you do (for a career), if you weren’t doing what you do now? “Something in astrology. I think it would be awesome to research the universe.”

7. What do you like to do for fun outside of work? “Believe it or not, I’m one of the biggest nerds you will ever meet. I build gaming computers. Also, I like to spend time outdoors in the summer. I enjoy shooting trap and sporting clays.”

8. What is your favorite food? “Very tough, but I have to go with tacos.”

9. What is your favorite movie? Talladega nights

10. What is your favorite TV show? “Dexter”

11. What is your favorite restaurant? “Bootleggers.”

12. Do you have any pets? Three dogs. Burt (Boston terrier) Janet (Lab/pit mix) Maverick (Lab/pit mix)

13. If you could hop on a plane for free tomorrow, where would you go? “Easy. BORA BORA.”

14. Do you have any hidden talents that you would like to admit? “I am very good at bowling. High game is a 296. So close to a perfect game.”
