Job description for the Service Technician

Lano Equipment, Inc., a family owned business since 1946, is looking for full-time service technicians to work on diesel equipment, construction equipment and compact and subcompact tractors. We are looking for dedicated employees who have excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and can deliver a high level of service as a mechanic for Lano Equipment and their customers.

Responsibilities for the Service Technician

  • Diagnose and repair Bobcat, Kubota and Doosan equipment including skid steer loaders, excavators, tractors 18hp-135hp, UTV vehicles, compaction equipment and assorted attachments both skid steer and 3 point.
  • Maintain good customer records, complete work orders and work with the parts department to assure parts needed for a job are complete and ordered in a timely fashion
  • Convey job progress to his supervisor and customer as needed
    Interact with customers in a constructive and supportive manner
    Ability to work well as a team member and collaborate on open work orders

Qualifications for the Service Technician

  • 2-year technical degree or on the job experience in a comparable field for 5+ years
  • Systems knowledge of components related to work, i.e. hydraulics systems and schematics, electrical systems and schematics and fuel systems
  • Own mechanics tool set
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a clean and safe work space
  • Minimum physical requirements
  • Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Lift bulky items

PARTS COUNTER SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job description for the Parts Counter Sales Representative

Lano Equipment, Inc., a family owned business since 1946, is looking for a full-time Parts Counter Sales Representative at its Loretto, MN location. This Sales Person will work directly with customers to provide them with parts from manufacturers such as Bobcat, Kubota, Doosan, Toro and Stihl, as well other local parts suppliers of industrial and residential equipment. We are looking for a dedicated employee who has excellent customer service and organizational skills. This employee must also be collaborative, possess excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with the service department to meet their needs for parts inventory.

Responsibilities for the Parts Counter Sales Representative

  • Focus on servicing our customers’ needs for in-store, phone and internet parts requests in a timely, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Interact with customers in a constructive and supportive manner.
  • Research parts solutions for customers – used, new, surplus and aftermarket solutions.
  • Assist customers looking for hard-to-find parts by utilizing various parts resources.
  • Supply the service department with parts required to meet our service customers’ needs in a timely manner.
  • Utilize company, vendor and industry resources to consistently grow your knowledge of machines and their applicable parts.
  • Collaborate with all stores to assure parts are available to customers at the appropriate location.
  • Process sales orders and returns within our ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.
  • This person must work well as a team member and collaborate with all departments within the company.
  • Responsible for effectively creating and processing transfer orders and creating/receiving vendor purchase orders.

Required Skills for the Parts Counter Sales Representative

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Sales driven with a confident “Can Do” attitude.
  • Must be able to work in both a team and independent environment.
  • Computer skills – proven ability to use multiple software programs to perform daily tasks.
  • Experience with part sales – heavy equipment and industrial parts experience is a plus but not required.
  • Organizational skills – ability to balance competing priorities
